He Decided it Was Finally Time...

To WALK!!! Yay, Connor! And to think we ever doubted you!

OH...and I just finished reading The Shack a few days ago. If you haven't read it, you should. It gave me quite a new perspective about God's love for us. And how his ways may not be our ways. There were parts of the book I thought were questionable, but for the most part, it was really good. I read til 1:00 a.m. a couple of nights because I could not put it down. It was sweet, sad, and makes ya think!

Her First Race...

This morning Taylor ran her very first race! It was a one mile fun run as part of the Red Ribbon Run. She definitely doesn't get her desire to do this from me! Seeing as how I would just slow her down (mama don't run), Chad went with her! I was so proud of that little toot! I may just have to get in gear and join in next time!

Honey Fall Festival...

Tonight was the annual Fall Festival at Honey! There is always so much to do (games, food, silent auction, etc.) and it's just a fun family atmosphere! Well, the evening started great and ended great, but in between Taylor had a little metldown. Heaven help me...I'm not sure I'm ready for all the drama that having a girl entails. I know I'm definitely gonna need a lot of wisdom from up above:) Taylor was having such a good time with two of her "friends" when they decided to run off and do their own thing. She was so upset. I know...I remember those days. It is HARD. I felt so bad for her. Dondi, Poppi, Chad, and I were sitting with her, telling her she was better than that, and trying to cheer her up. But she just cried and cried. She finally decided she wanted to do the cake-walk. So the two of us walked together and when we found it we saw that a couple of her real friends were there too. She cheered right up like nothing ever happened! I was so glad the crisis was over! We left that cake-walk with a happy little girl and a box of cookies:) Later, after every game had been played, and hair colored, and faces painted we left. As we were walking to the car I asked Taylor: "Did you have fun?" She said: "Oh yes, except for the crying part."

It's Been Awhile...

Well, I've been away from the blogworld for about a week, and I must admit it's been kinda' nice! Right now life is pretty crazy. I feel like I'm just trying to keep my head above water. I have, what feels like, an endless amount of homework, and it's making me cranky cranky. I know I probably haven't been very fun to live with lately. I keep having to tell myself that the semester is almost over ~ and it will be worth it when everything is said and done. It better be! :) Come on December 1st!

So anyway, today as I was driving and listening to my new Hillsong cd, I decided to give all my stress and craziness to God. It feels so good to rest in His love and peace. He is my firm foundation!! I wish I had the words to adequately express His awesomeness! But all I know is that through all of my stupidity and stubborness, He still loves me and calls me His own!

The Front Porch...

We love decorating our porch this time of year. Here is what it looks like this go-round. Target had the cutest princess and pirate Mr. Potato Head pumpkin decorations ~ thus the girls in their dresses and Connor in his pirate shirt to match. And we totally hit the 50% off at Hobby Lobby yesterday for the fun scarecrows.

Anyway, today was sooo great. Poor little Averi has bronchitis, so we stayed in ALL day. No KDO, no picking kids up from school (thanks, Dondi!), no nuthin'!! I wish I had more days like today.:) Especially with the colder weather...makes me want to snuggle up in bed.

Punkin' Day...

Yesterday Dondi, Kristi, and I took the girls to Punkin' Day in Floydada. We look forward to this every year. After we eat, play, and look around at all the booths, we go to the pumpkin farm and pick out lots of pumpkins for the front porch!! It is so fun being together outside enjoying the feeling of fall!

The Corn Maize...

Yesterday Averi's class took a field trip to the Corn Maize. The weather was perfect and we had such a good time. I love how peaceful it is out there ~ makes me want to be a farmer:)

The Big Toe...

After 29 years of big toe ugliness, I can FINALLY wear flip flops!!! I am FREEE!! Because today I got acrylic nails...on my big toes:) I can't tell you how happy this makes me. After years of shame and hiding and close-toed shoes, the big toe can come out and play!:) I held my head high as I walked into the nail salon and told them what I wanted. I guess nothing surprises them...it was no biggie. They were at one point, however, hovering over my toe and speaking Chinese. God only knows what they were saying. But I didn't care...I could already see the big toe transformation and nothing was going to get me down!! I don't have pictures, but rest assured, it is a good thing:)
