The Best Yet...

Taylor had her very first birthday slumber party this year. She was so excited all day Friday she could hardly contain herself. At 5:30 little girls started trickling in...thirteen of them to be exact. I was a little worried that it may be too much and drama would ensue. But there was no craziness...it was all good!

We knew it would be a long night, so our plan was to wear them out as much as possible so they couldn't possible keep their eyes open past midnight! We way underestimated these fireballs. So our fun-filled party began with a little dip in the pool. And thank goodness for the rolling cart and Chad and Poppi! Thirteen littl girls + a sleepover = a lot of stuff.

Swimming makes a girl hungry. We grilled hot dogs, ate a little cake, and watched T open some gifts. When you're nine you get lots of gift cards and clothes from Justice. A girl loves to be pampered...so after dinner we treated everyone to a pedicure. O.K...so pedicure may be stretching it a little. But we painted the girls' toenails. They loved it! We had mood polish, glow-in-the dark polish, and the craziest colors you've ever seen!

The fun did not end there! We sent the girls on a treasure hunt all over Vintage. We split the group into two teams and the competition was on. Unfortunately, Poppi was accused of cheating when he picked up one of the teams in his golf cart. Somehow they ended up winning :) The night ended (or we thought it would) with another swim, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, and a movie (Marley and Me). But around midnight they got a second wind and it didn't die down til 2:30 IN...THE...MORNING. It was well-worth the sleep-deprived daze I experienced the rest of the weekend!

Nine Years Ago Today...

This little girl made her grand entrance into the world. And she's been shining and sparkling ever since! We love you to the moon and back, Tay Tay.

And Happy Father's Day, Chaddy. Nine years ago we were in the hospital (some of us in excruciating pain...some of us sleeping soundly...j/k...sort of...it's funny now!) We thought little miss would be your Father's Day gift, but she held out til Monday! What a beautiful time in our life. And you looked like a baby yourself!

The Life of a Dancer...

After months and months of practice and hard work, the dancer gets to dress up and strut her stuff on stage. And everyone knows it's all about the costume. This year they rocked!
Dance 201065

The dancer can hardly believe recital weekend is finally here. All day she asks if it's time to do hair and make-up. Her mom says "not yet...rehearsal isn't til 9:15" (which turned into 10:15...p.m.)

The dancer knows that Mrs. Karla's Dance Gallery "major production" always packs out a house. But she also knows the real fun happens behind the scenes. It's the smell of hairspray, the sound of tap shoes, an array of colorful costumes, and most of the all, the excitement of moms and their dancers.

The dancer is told IT'S TIME!! She steps on stage and dances her heart out. The crowd goes wild!

After it's all over the dancer is surrounded by flowers and family!
