Toothless...

After days of manipulating, twisting, and pushing back and forth - Taylor's front tooth FINALLY came out! She worked tirelessly every day just to get it a little looser. Her determination paid off:) She looks so cute - and sounds so funny when she says "toothfairy"!

Youth Art Month Winner...

We're so proud of our little artist! Her art was chosen to be on display at one of the local elementary schools for the month of March!

Spirit Day...

Yesterday was Spirit Day at Taylor's School. The whole campus was buzzing with festivities! They had games, arts & crafts, face painting, and a whole lot more! The students could wear hats, jerseys, or sports uniforms. Of course Taylor wanted to be a cheerleader. Since Chad took off for his birthday he was able to go. It was a lot of fun:)

Before Spirit Day we volunteered in Taylor's class during Centers. Basically, we just make sure the kids are getting their work done and help with any questions they have. When Center time is over they do a "clap" to thank the parents for helping. I love claps! They make me laugh:) Taylor chose to do "Beauty Pageant Winner!"

Happy 30th Chad...

I love you, old man! It's hard to believe we've been together nearly half our lives:) That's a scary thought:) You're a great husband and a fabulous father! I had fun with you today:)

Birthday Boy...

What Connor is learning/doing at 12 months:

  • He is starting to mimick what we say and do. The other day in the car I was looking at my throat in the mirror - when I turned around and looked at Connor he had his mouth open, his tongue out, and was saying "Ahhh." It was too cute!
  • He says "Uh-oh"
  • He will open and close his hand and say "bye-bye"
  • We are teaching him to sign "more" - he is really getting the hang of it. I'll have to video it because it is so neat!
  • He got his 8th tooth a couple of days ago.
  • We are still working with him on learning to crawl. He is getting better at using his legs.
  • He is on whole milk - no more formula :) and eating more and more table food.
  • I love it when he tries not to smile. He keeps his mouth closed but can't quite contain a little grin. He is my handsome boy!
  • He loves his sisters, but sometimes they just are too much for him. Averi could love on him all day, but Connor has a limit:) He likes to grab her nose and hair.

We are having so much fun with our boy! This age is definitely one of my favorites!

A Year Ago Today...

Was one of the best days of our lives. Connor Steven FINALLY arrived! I didn't think that kid was ever going to come out:)
With all the nerves and excitement, we were up at the crack of dawn. We were scheduled to call the hospital at 7:00 a.m., but at 6:00 they called us and said they were ready.
Thinking we had a few hours to kill, Chad was at the gym working out. He rushed home and as quickly as we could, got everything together and left our house the last time as a family of four.
When the nurse checked me she asked how I was even walking. I honestly did not know. Connor's head was sooo low.
One of the things I prayed for was good nurses. And we were blessed with the best. In fact, Tammy, who was our nurse when we delivered Taylor, was there. She wasn't assigned to us but wanted to be in the room when Connor was born.
I labored all morning (thankfully with no pain):) Sometime after noon I was at a 10 and ready to push. I don't know how long or how many times I pushed, but I remember feeling exhausted. It took everything I had. We weren't making as much progress as we would have liked and they were starting to think Connor was in distress, so Dr. D. gave me the option to push one more time or she was going to have to get the vacuum. I wanted to push - and sure enough at 2:17 on March 6th he came.
The feeling was indescribable. Physcially is was such a relief. Emotionally it was overwhelming. We were instantly in love.
Taylor and Averi were such good little troopers. They were so excited and waited patiently all day to see their baby brother.
Here we are a year later and we can't imagine our lives without our little man:) He has three mommies to take care of him (no wonder he doesn't crawl yet):) and too many grandparents to count! This kid is set!
